Jill was beautiful inside and out. We had good times and got together often. She liked to sew and so did I. I was forever trying to make up for my shortcomings with altering my clothes. My Mom had taken me to Sacks Fifth Ave, in NYC to get a spring coat to improve my appearance and I fell in love with a very green nicely taylored light wool coat. To go with it I wanted a coconut medium wide brimmed hat that was deemed too expensive and settled on a very wide brimmed black straw picture hat, which I wore to Jill"s wedding. I never knew the impact of the outfit until my wedding. While greeting people in the reception line, Jill came up to give me a hug. She was dressed beautifully as always, very pregnant, and with a big wide white straw hat. She was adorable and told me with a glint in her eye that her outfit was payback for my big black hat at her wedding.
After she moved away, we lost track of each other, much to my consternation. ( Just think, these days there are no hats to worry about unless we live in England.)
It is amazing, after all these years, how nice it is to remember a dear friend that is still in my heart.

Jill and I went to Sunday School together. I remember that the most. Her sister, Judy, a
cute redhead, was older than we were, but always acted like a big sister should.
I know several of us remember slumber parties and all the fun we had just gabbing and laughing
and Jill was there. Those were the good ole days.
It's hard to believe she was gone so soon. Jill was a special gal.
