IN MEMORY OF A LIFE BEAUTIFULLY LIVED

Elizabeth Ann Haag ("Bonnie") passed away peacefully November 14, 2023, at Evergreens Retirement Community in her hometown of Moorestown, NJ. She was born in 1943 to John Harvey and Madeline Rife Yundt. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Bonnie was an accomplished violinist, starting lessons on a quarter-size instrument when she was just 3 years old. She played in regional and state orchestras in high school and went on to get a degree in music education from Wittenberg University (Springfield, Ohio). Her career spanned 33 years, teaching and mentoring music students at the upper elementary and middle school level in Cinnaminson and Moorestown townships. At one time she had more than 100 violinists in the middle school orchestra. She collaborated with the choral and band leaders to involve her string students in impressive musical performances.

She is predeceased by her parents, her older sister, Joan Tuttle, and her infant grandson, Christian Haag. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, John (Jack) Haag; sister, Karen Lunnen; children, Matthew Haag (Alison) and Jacquie Olsson (Conny); stepchildren, Brian Haag (Amy) and Laurie Haag; and grandchildren, Madeline, Mason, Landon and Kendall Haag, Henrik and Olivia Olsson, and Tyler Haag.

I just read the announcement of Bonnie's death, and I can't seem to stop crying.  I know we're all old, and she hasn't been well, but she had beaten the odds for so long that I just wasn't expecting this.  She was one of my favorite people--very talented and very kind to me always.  I'm so grateful I at least saw her and spent some one-on-time with her at our reunion last October.  I will always remember her, and send my heartfelt condolences to her lovely family.

I was also saddened by Bonnie's passing. We both grew up on 2nd street and went to school from K thru 12.  We both played the violin in grade school and were asked to join the middle school orgestra ( she did I did not)  She was an excellent musician and teacher as noted in her obit. She was a large part of our school experience. I will miss her at our future gatherings. Ed Rynex

I join Susie in disbelief  on the passing of Bonnie. She was such  a talented contributor to the collective personality of MHS 61 and engaging person as well. I too enjoyed reconnecting with her at our recent class reunion. How special was the sound of her violin.

Yep. Bonnie was there from K through 12.  I was too.  Here’s a memory from K:  Into Miss Wark’s (sp?) class walked Mr. Yundt, the principal.  Big guy!  Carried himself that way, too.  We are all awed.  Bonnie gets up and goes to the front of the class to plant herself right next to her dad, standing there with a very proud smile on her face.  Mr. Yundt allows her to be there for a little while, making his remarks to us (god knows what they were about), then nicely ushers her back to her seat.  Bonnie kept smiling the whole time, quietly.

Bonnie was a special lady and her accomplishments numerous; an asset to our class of '61! Many took pride in her violin performances at MHS holiday concerts.
I remember her as kind, insightful and having a good sense of humor, a good friend . She loved and was devoted to family. Warm thoughts and prayers are with them.
